He appeared in the census in 1745 in (Pointe Coupée Parish), Louisiana, USA with his wife, one child and Pierre LeDoux (an associate). Louis died on 10 April 1762 and was buried on 11 April 1762 at St. François d’Assise Catholic Cemetery in (Pointe Coupée Parish), Louisiana, USA.3166,1401 He had his estate in succession on 11 January 1765 in (Pointe Coupée Parish), Louisiana, USA although it is unknown when the succession was opened. On this date, there was an order issued for sealing his succession. On the following day, an inventory was made of the goods and habitation of Bouchard an a tutor for his children was elected. The couple had, at least, eight children - all born at Ste. Geneviève (St. Geneviève County), Missouri.. She died on 12 November 1782 in Ste. Genevieve (St. Genevieve County), Missouri. | | iii. | Simon BOUCHARD dit LAVALLÉE was born on 6 January 1752 in (Pointe Coupée Parish), Louisiana, USA.1408 He was baptized on 6 January 1752 in (Pointe Coupée Parish), Louisiana, USA.1408 He was listed as a member of the Pointe Coupée Militia in 1777 and is, therefore, considered to be a patriot of the American Revolution. He died on 1 April 1793. On 28 October 1772, Simon was not listed as one of the Bouchard minors (LaVallée) in a document regarding the the succession of his grandfather, Guillaume Lemoine, père, although Simon was still alive and was, indeed, a minor (under the age of 25). One can only speculate why this occurred. On 26 October 1777, Simon was a witness to the marriage of his sister, Marie Louise, at her marriage to Jean Baptiste Rabalais I at Pointe Coupée. According to Winston DeVille in his book entitled "Pointe Coupée Documents, 1762-1803...", a letter of freedom of the mulatress Lucile belonging to Sieur Simon Bouchard was written on 12 February 1781. According to Corrine Saucier's Book entitled "History of Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana" (Page 481, Appendix C), on 1 April 1793, a will was made by "Mr. Lavalle". "It begins this way: 'In the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost'. It is made to his children, LucyLuis, Suzan, and Jeanne. Joseph Joffrion is to pay all his debts and to divide his stock among the children. Signed by Dominique De Apereto, Badin, and Jean Choimache.
