Per Jette's "Dictionnaire Genealogique des familles du Quebec", Nicolas was "absent le 1-26-1674 Quebec et le 6-21-1697 Charlesbourg, Canada". It appears that he returned to France during this time after abandoning his wife and 2 children. 2519. Catherine GUICHELIN (GUISSELIN)(GICHELIN) was born in Laon (Notre-Dame) (Aisne: 020408), France.59,78 She died on 7 December 1733 in Quebec, Quebec Province, Canada. [She was a "King's Daughter"]. Catherine had a very 'interesting' life. She was the only King's Daughter charged with prostitution while living in Canada. She appeared before the Sovereign Council of New France on 19 Aug 1675 after being charged "to carry out a scandalous life and prostitution". She apparently turned to prostitution after her husband, Nicolas, returned to France prior to 1674. The court ordered her banished from the city and its suburbs until her husband's return. By 1681, the 10-year-old daughter she had with Nicolas was adopted and lived with the family of Pierre Bulte and their 8-year-old son was living with Antoine Tapin in Neuville. In the following years, she gave birth to, at least, five illegitimate children and one of them appears to have been Marie Agathe. She also signed, at least, 2 marriage contracts which were cancelled and also had two more husbands after returning to Sorel and, finally, Montreal. Catherine married Charles Tissiau dit St. Germain on 16 Apr 1708 in Montreal. He died in 1715. She then married Jean Roy dit La pensee on 16 Feb 1716 in Montreal. Jean died in 1719. Children were:
