Another source indicates that he was born in Pamperk, Germany, but I've not yet been able to find such a town. Therefore, it's more likely that he was from Bamberg. Also, according to "Louisiana Marriage Contracts 1725-1758", André's name appeared to be "Johann Cenain" in one St. Louis Cathedral Baptismal record and "Juhan Cinain" in others. He died before 19 March 1757. He was listed as deceased on the 19 March 1757 marriage record of his daughter, Marguerite, to Jacques Cuvillier.842 Marie Anne VALLEAU and Andre SIMON signed a marriage contract on 5 May 1738 in New Orleans (Orleans Parish), Louisiana, USA.1472 At the time of Valleau's marriage to Simon, she was an orphan at the Convent of the Ursulines in New Orleans. Interestingly, André signed another marriage contract on 1 Aug 1738 with Marie Jeanne Drapeau ("Louisiana Marriage Contracts 1725-1758", Page 74). However, it is known that he had (at least) 5 children with Valleau. Marie Jeanne Drapeau married Jean Baptiste Frederic dit Leonard in 1740. 599,1473 You might also note that the 1738 Simon-Valleau marriage contract mentions a provision made for André Simon's four-month-old daughter, Marie Françoise, although the mother is not identified. 1147. On that date, she was named godmother of her granddaughter, Marie Françoise Barras, at Pointe Coupée. [Note: Marie Anne had (at least) 2 children with a "Pierre Joffrion". It is unknown if the couple had been married.] I have also not identified this "Pierre Joffrion" although it is possible that he was related to the Joseph Joffrion who married Marie Jeanne Rabalais in 1752.
