Eleventh Generation

1606. Military service: Compagnie des Indes. He appears to have been in D'erneville's Company in 1747 and Gourdon's Company at the time of his death in 1754. Jacques Simon BRIGNAC died on 10 August 1754 in Mobile (Mobile County), Alabama, USA.1979

1607. Marie Anne TURPIN - The year of her birth is unknown. I've seen indications that she was born about 1687, 1700 or 1709. However, I believe that the disparity is due to the fact that she is being confused with someone else of the same name. She was buried in Opelousas (St. Landry Parish), Louisiana, USA.1979

NOTE: There is little accurate info available on this family. I've seen numerous claims that Marie Anne Turpin was the d/o Jean Baptiste Turpin and Marguerite Fafard. This is not the case and this claim is dispelled in an article written by Suzanne Boivin Sommerville in Volume 35, #2, April 2014 issue of 'Michigan's Habitant Heritage' entitled "But I Read It...: The Two Jean Baptiste Turpin Sons of Jean Baptiste Turpin".
